The Syria Mosque was the home of the acclaimed Pittsburgh Symphony from 1926 to 1971 when the organization moved to Heinz Hall. Under the baton of William Steinberg, some of the Pittsburgh Symphony’s best recordings were made in the Syria Mosque which had great acoustics for its age.
